We are committed to providing high-quality, professional development & programming -

To participate in this virtual conference experience, we are using a platform called Zoom Webinar

Registrants will receive an e-mail at least 48 hours before the start of the conference with a link to join the webinar.

  • Please refer to the e-mail address you used to register as that is where the information will be sent.

  • The e-mail will come from "no-reply@zoom.us"

  • If you don't receive the e-mail by this time, please make sure to check your junk/spam folder. If it isn't there, please contact the Office of Conferences & Events at Concordia College by e-mailing conferences@cord.edu or by calling 218.299.3566.

Important reminders | BEFORE:

  • You can join the webinar through a web browser or the Zoom client on a desktop, laptop or mobile device. There is no need to download anything!

  • Participants do not need their own Zoom account to join.

  • Participants will not appear on video.

  • Participants will not have audio capabilities within the webinar.

Important reminders | DURING:

  • Once you join the webinar, you may receive a message that says "waiting for the host to start this meeting." This just means you are on-time! When the webinar begins, your screen will automatically change to show the conference presentation. We thank you in advance for your patience.

  • Your options for interaction while a speaker is presenting include:

    • Virtually 'raising your hand' to ask a question or to make a comment

    • Submitting a question in the chat box during any portion of the presentation

    • A session moderator will be keeping track of 'raised hands' and the chat box to pass on to the presenter as time allows

Important reminders | AFTER:

  • After the completion of the conference on the second day, you will receive an e-mail with a link to a survey. This will provide you with an opportunity to provide feedback/comments on your virtual conference experience, as well as information on how to receive your CEUs.

To make the most of your experience, here are some common suggestions for attending a webinar:

  • Minimize the distractions around you as much as possible.

  • Make sure your computer has enough battery or that you have your power cord easily accessible.

  • Check your internet connection.

  • Before it begins, print off any materials that would be easier to have right in front of you.

We will have a 10 minute break between each session. While there are no vendors this year, please feel free to check out the sponsor page for links to these organizations and the work they are doing in our communities!

This conference offers six (6) continuing education credits (CEUs) for social workers and nurses who work in Minnesota and North Dakota. After the conference is over, participants will receive an e-mail with a link to a survey. The response to this survey will generate the CEUs to be sent via an additional e-mail within 3-5 business days. Without the submission of this survey, we will be unable to issue the appropriate CEUs. You must submit your information by 5 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020.

You will find the presentations and handouts provided by the speakers on this page.

Please feel free to save or print the following documents in any way that is most beneficial for you to use during the conference.

Feel free to enter your question(s) into the chat box of the current session as it is happening. Your message will be answered by either the session moderator or you will be contacted by a committee member directly.

For immediate assistance, you may also contact the Office of Conferences & Events at Concordia College at 218.299.3566. We will be attending the sessions and monitoring technical aspects of the conference.

*Registration for the conference will close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020.

COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT: Decision to move from in-person to virtual

June 2020: Caring for the safety and well-being of our attendees is the most important priority during the ongoing challenges of COVID-19. Over the past several months, the Northern Plains Conference on Aging planning committee has been continuously evaluating the updated recommendations from the Center for Disease Control as well as both Minnesota and North Dakota Department of Health as it relates to large events and gatherings.

The decision has been made to forgo an in-person conference this year. However, we are excited to be moving forward with a virtual conference in October. While we will certainly miss gathering together in person, we stay committed to our 25 year history of providing high-quality, professional development and programming. Please register with confidence knowing that we have another great year planned for you – thank you for your continued support of the Northern Plains Conference on Aging.
